• SQL Server 2017 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux offer

Microsoft has heard from you, our customers, that your data estate gets bigger, more complicated, and more diverse every year. You need solutions that work across platforms, whether on-premises or in the cloud, and that meet your data workloads where they are. Embracing this choice, earlier today we announced the general availability of SQL Server 2017 on Linux, Windows, and Docker on October 2, 2017.

ついに、来月 (10/2) に、SQL Server 2017 （Window/Linux/Docker) が GA (一般提供開始) となります。
Bob Ward のつぶやきにも、この内容が触れられています。

赤シャツ先生のキーノートでも発表がありました。

SQL Server 2017 が GAというアナウンスがありましたが、? 実際の GA は 10/2 になるかと。

https://www.microsoft.com/ja-jp/sql-server/sql-server-downloads にも 10 月 2 日から公開という記載が追加されていますね。

SSRS についてのアナウンス
内容が理解できていないのですが、MSBuild support for Reporting Services projects now available が追加されているようです。
ML? Server についてのアナウンス
Microsoft for the Modern Data Estate

The newly renamed Machine Learning Server for Hadoop, formerly R Server, brings R and Python based scalable analytics to Hadoop and Spark environments, and it is now available to all SQL Server Enterprise Edition customers as a Software Assurance benefit.

ML Services は SQL Server 2017 で触れられてきましたが、ML Server については初めて出てきた気が。
Microsoft Machine Learning Server Documentation にドキュメントが出ていました。
Offline installation for Machine Learning Server for Windows のオフラインインストール用のドキュメントに、Microsoft Python Open や、Python Server という、SQL Server 2017 の ML Services のサーバー版の DL 先についての記載もありますね。
クラウド関連に記載していますが、SQL Database でも ML Services が R 言語でサポートされるようになっています。

Managed Instance と Data Migration Services についてのアナウンス
Microsoft for the Modern Data Estate

We also announced the upcoming public preview of SQL Database Managed Instance and Azure Database Migration Service previews, along with the addition of SQL Server to Azure Hybrid Benefit. The new Azure Hybrid Benefit for SQL Server enables customers to use on-premises SQL Server licenses for the easiest lift and shift of SQL Server workloads to fully-managed cloud.

Upcoming ということのなので、ちょっと待つ必要がありそうですが、Managed Instance と Migration Services の PUblic Preview についてのアナウンスも。
SQL Server Migration Preview にも次のような記載がありますね。

A new deployment option, “Azure SQL Database – Managed Instance” will bring increased compatibility with on-premises SQL Server instances, network isolation with full VNET and private IPs support, while keeping all the benefits of a fully managed PaaS. This limited preview has reached its capacity. Public preview is coming soon. We kindly ask you to be patient and evaluate the new platform at that time.

Azure Migrate の中に、Azure Data Migration Service が含まれているようで、Azure Database Migration Service というページも作成されていたようです。
SQL Data Warehouse についてのアナウンス

• Faster compute optimized performance tier for Azure SQL Data Warehouse

新しいサービス層が秋ごろのプレビューでリリースされるようです。
NVMe の階層化キャッシュが入っているようで、10 倍高速になるケースもあるとかなんとか。

SQL Database のセキュリティについてのアナウンス

• Introducing SQL Vulnerability Assessment for Azure SQL Database and on-premises SQL Server!
• Public preview: SQL Vulnerability Assessment

こちらは、脆弱性評価の新しいサービスですかね。
詳細については SQL Vulnerability Assessment で公開されています。
既に試すこともできるようで、データベース単位で脆弱性のスキャンを実施できます。

ネットワーク系としては 2 点、新しいアナウンスが。
1 点目は、NSG のタグに SQL ができたようです。 Service tags
こちらについては Public preview: application security groups, service tags, augmented security rules でも情報がアナウンスされています。
サービスタグについては、2017/9 時点では、すべてのリージョンが用意されているわけではなく、次のリージョンのみとなっているようです。

The service tags are available only in the following regions: East US, West US, West US 2, West Central US, Australia East, Australia Southeast, and UK South.

2 点目は、Virtual Network Service Endpoints (Preview) の SQL DB の VNET のサービスエンドポイントが大きいですね。

• Azure Networking announcements for Ignite 2017

サービスタグと同様に、2017/9 時点ではすべてのリージョンでは対応しておらず、対応しているのは次のリージョンとなっています。

• Azure Storage: WestCentralUS, WestUS2, EastUS, WestUS, AustraliaEast, and AustraliaSouthEast
• Azure SQL Database: WestCentralUS, WestUS2, and EastUS.

こちらについては、Use Virtual Network service endpoints and rules for Azure SQL Database でも解説されています。
サービスエンドポイントに対応しているリージョンで仮想ネットワークを作成する際には、次の画像のように、サービスエンドポイントが表示されています。

仮想ネットワークの作成後に追加もできるようですね。

SQL Database の ML Services についてのアナウンス

In addition to making it easier than ever to move to Azure SQL Database, we’re building in new capabilities that make it more compelling than ever to move. SQL Database has new Machine Learning Services for R language advanced analytics, a service that provides a platform for building and deploying intelligent applications in the cloud.

SQL Database 向けの ML Services for R についても触れられています。
Azure SQL Database features に次の記載が増えていますので、今後情報出てくるのかと。

Announcing preview of Machine Learning Services with R support in Azure SQL Database で詳細が公開されていますが、Premium のパフォーマンスレベルで使えるようですね。

sp_execute_external_script (Transact-SQL) の R の実行が、SQL Database でも実行できるようになるようです。
PREDICT についてもサポートされるようです。
Announcing general availability of Native Scoring using PREDICT function in Azure SQL Database

Today we are announcing the general availability of the native PREDICT Transact-SQL function in Azure SQL Database. The PREDICT function allows you to perform scoring in real-time using certain RevoScaleR or revoscalepy models in a SQL query without invoking the R or Python runtime.

ネイティブスコアリングについては、Revoscalepy もサポートされているみたいですね。
Azure Data Factory についてのアナウンス

To simplify analytics in the cloud, we’re releasing a public preview of new hybrid data integration capabilities in Azure Data Factory including the ability to run SSIS packages within the service.

もちょっと気になりますね。ADF で SSIS パッケージが実行可能になるというような記載が。
New managed SQL server Integration Service hosting capability in Data Factory / Azure Data Factory ? announcing new capabilities in public preview でも触れられていますね。
Introduction to Azure Data Factory によると、ADF v2 になるんでしょうか。
Data Factory pricing? にも価格が載ってきていますね。
